Hello everyone, how are you? Let's talk about powder?
Nowadays, the market is full of offers of the most diverse types of makeup powders. But do you know what each of them is made for? So, check this post so you will not make mistakes when choosing yours.
1) Compact powder in your skin tone: These are most common since always. They are what we buy when we want to add coverage. For some, it is possible to use without a base, since the coverage is good. MAC's are good for this.
2) Loose powder in your skin tone: As before, they added coverage. However, a cover of a loose powder will always be lighter since the loose particles are made for the greater spreading of the product. The effect is more natural.
3) Mineral powder: They are formulated based on minerals and plant extracts that do not harm the skin. On the contrary, it leaves a more beautiful and natural skin. The finish of this type of powder is better than the loose or the compact powder. They last longer in the skin, since the minerals balance the oiliness. However, it has a lesser validity because it has no chemical preservatives. They may be more expensive than conventional powders.
4) Translucent powder: This is a villain and a good guy at the same time. By having extremely fine particles, this type of powder is great for the eye area. It does not accumulate in fine lines and leaves the area more disguised. Besides being able to be used on top of the compact powder or alone, as finishing powder.
Why is it a villain? Try taking a photo with flash after applying it... It will be a burst! This type of powder reflects a lot and should be used with caution. Spreading the product well helps a lot, but being careful about the brands we choose also makes a difference. What I used in the post on my Instagram is from the brand "quem disse, Berenice?". It has an anti-glare effect, but that's only on live. When I take a picture, it's terrible. By the way, I only use it when I'm not going to take pictures. Another one that also has this effect is the Amazonian powder from Tarte; it reflects equal light. They are two products with different proposals: one has the proposal of matifying and the other has the proposal of skin satin, but the problem is the same.
One that is great and I highly recommend it's the powder from Laura Mercier. It gives a light in the right measure.
5) Powder with corrective effect: Generally, they have a slightly different tonality, which can be yellowish, rosy, greenish... just like the concealers, these powders help to camouflage imperfections. A good example is the "Renata Meins soft light powder", which can be worn across the face, but has camouflage of dark circles as the main function. Another one that is very interesting is from "Bare Minerals: Blemish therapy". This powder has a light to medium coverage that, in addition to disguising the pimples, acts as an anti-acne treatment.
Bonus
Beauty powder: MAC has some nice products with this proposal. This powder has an illuminating effect but not as strong as a real highlighter.
I like to apply when the makeup gets too matte. It gives a beautiful and very natural satin effect. Although they are pink in the package, they may not add color, only brightness (it will depend on the shade of the powder). You can apply any way you want. If you like matte coverage, you can apply only on some regions of the face to beautify. And the best: it does not pop in the photo!
